What people make with a tweet generator
Post screenshots are everywhere outside of X: in TikTok and Reels as the opening frame, in YouTube thumbnails, in memes, in slide decks about a product launch, and in mockups for an app or a campaign before anything is posted. Most of the time the goal is the look, not the claim. You want a post that reads like X at a glance, in your own words, sharp enough to fill a vertical video. This generator draws the expanded post view with the name, handle, text, time, date, views and the stats row, then exports a PNG at twice its on-screen size.
What a post looks like on X in 2026
The layout has changed since Twitter became X, and older templates date themselves. These are the details the generator follows:

Dark mode or light mode
X's dark theme is pure black with light grey text, and it's the one most people recognise in screenshots on vertical video. Light mode is white with near-black text and suits slides, articles and bright thumbnails. Pick whichever matches where the image is going. Either exports at the same size.
Getting the numbers right
The quickest way to make a post look staged is numbers that don't add up. Views are always far higher than likes: a post with 48,000 likes usually has somewhere around a million views, not 60,000. Replies are usually the smallest count, and bookmarks tend to sit near reposts. Keep the date and time plausible for the joke, and write like people post: lowercase is fine, no hashtags unless it's part of the bit.
How to spot a fake tweet
If a screenshot of a post is being used as evidence of something, check it before you share it:
- Search X for it. Search for a distinctive phrase with from:handle. Real posts, even deleted ones, often left replies and quote posts behind.
- Check the archive. Paste the account's profile into the Wayback Machine and look around the date shown.
- Look at the date. A post dated before the account existed, or on a day the person was offline, is made up.
- Check the ratios. Likes higher than views is impossible.
- Look for Community Notes. Viral fake screenshots are often annotated when they're shared on X.
Use this for jokes, mockups and your own posts, not to put words in a real person's mouth. A made-up name and handle does the same job without the risk of defamation or a report.
Limitations
It makes one post in the expanded view, without images, quote posts, polls or the “Last edited” label, and the badge is the blue check only. X uses its own Chirp typeface, which websites can't use, so the text is set in your device's system font. It's close at a glance but not identical.
