What the Reels reply sticker is

Instagram lets you answer a comment with a Reel, a feature it launched in late 2021 as visual replies. When you do, the comment is pinned to your Reel as a white sticker with the commenter's photo, a small “Reply to username” line and the comment underneath. Viewers know what they're watching before you say a word, which is why reply Reels tend to hold attention through the opening.

Instagram only adds that sticker when you make the reply from the comment inside the app. If you edit in CapCut or Premiere first, reuse a TikTok, or want to answer a question someone asked in your DMs or on another platform, there's no sticker. This tool makes the same card as a transparent PNG you can place on any video.

How to use it in a Reel

  1. Type the username and the comment above, add a profile photo if you have one, and download the PNG.
  2. In CapCut or Premiere: add it as an overlay or on a track above the video. The background stays transparent.
  3. Keep it in the upper half of the frame. The bottom of a Reel is covered by the caption, the audio label and the like and comment buttons.

Instagram vs TikTok stickers

They look alike at a glance, and viewers who use both apps notice when one is passed off as the other. Use the matching one for where the video will live.

Making it look like the real thing

Instagram usernames are up to 30 characters of letters, numbers, periods and underscores, with no spaces, so jordan.mlooks right and “Jordan M” doesn't. Keep the comment to a line or two, because viewers read the sticker in about a second. Add a profile photo when you can. Without one the sticker shows a plain initial, and a comment from a faceless account reads as a brand-new one.

Can you write the comment yourself?

Many creators set up their own prompts. A storytime needs a question, and it reads as a setup, not a lie. Where it goes wrong is using a real person. Don't put a real account's username or photo on a comment they didn't write, and don't make a real person look like they said something ugly. That's impersonation, which Instagram's rules don't allow, and it's the fastest way to get a Reel reported. A made-up handle does the same job.

Limitations

Instagram's app font isn't available to websites, so the text uses your device's system font. That's very close on an iPhone and a little further off elsewhere. The tool makes the reply sticker only, not the comment list with likes and timestamps. Comments are capped at 150 characters so the sticker stays sticker-sized.

Questions

Is this Instagram comment generator free?
Yes. No account, no trial, and no watermark.
Does it write comments for me?
No. It makes the sticker image for a comment you type. Nothing is generated by AI.
Is the background transparent?
Yes. Only the white card is drawn, at three times its on-screen size so it stays sharp in a 1080 × 1920 Reel.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. It stays in your browser and the image is drawn on your device.

Now give them something to look at
